At St. James Palace in London, Prince William and Kate Middleton faced the relentless flash of the cameras as they made their first official appearance together after announcing their engagement. During the photo op, Kate Middleton strategically showed off her new engagement ring, which she inherited from the late Princess Diana. Prince William said the sapphire and diamond sparkler was his “way of making sure that my mother didn’t miss out on today.”
